About Me

As the owner of Interior Solutions Design Group Inc I have always believed the single most important design initiative is the creation of mood within a space. Every room is a small story that is part of a greater tale. This tale should be riveting in its collection of details, i.e. colour, balance, texture, lighting & scale, that ultimately makes the homeowner and their guests feel a particular mood.
I live out my passion for story-telling in my projects, through my Blog and through the rest of my social media pages and feeds. Quite simply, I want to help you create your story!

Ever wondered what a day in the life of an interio Ever wondered what a day in the life of an interior designer looks like?⁣
⁣
Although no day is ever the same, my typical day usually goes something like this: Open emails, respond to emails and enquiries, work on a new design in the form of material selections, sketches, product research and enquiries, collaborate with my CAD tech and colleagues regarding new and current projects, researching budgets or installation, ordering samples, etc, respond to more texts, emails and telephone calls, break for lunch while skimming a magazine or online for the latest trends or product knowledge, race to a meeting, race to a second meeting, (sometimes 3), respond to a few more emails and texts, try and get in my 10,000 steps for the day, unwind my day responding to emails and texts. ⁣
⁣
Dinner, sometimes social, bed then repeat.⁣
⁣
I try to designate a certain number of days a week to focus 100% on design while conducting client and showroom meetings on the remaining days. ⁣
⁣
Weekends and holidays are sacred as this is the necessary down-time required to enable me to regroup and keep those creative juices flowing. ⁣
⁣
Of course, I could not accomplish any of this without the assistance of my team. ⁣

Do you have a signature colour? A designer will al Do you have a signature colour? A designer will always ask if there are colours you dislike along with colours you love that you may want incorporated into your design.

👉Some advise thinking about the colours in your closet to help in defining an answer to this question.

This client wanted a feminine version of The Mancave.

To quote her, “I dont want everything to be pink but I certainly do want it to be feminine enough that no man gets so comfortable he thinks of staying too long!" 😂

This renovation embraced the feminine quality of incorporating pinkish tones, curved shapes, light neutrals, soft textures, hints of gold and a tiny bit of sparkle in the wallpaper. A home that feels and is all her own. 🥰

This client already owned the comfy, high upholstered headboard for leaning against when reading and a fantastic woven bench for texture. I added nightstands for holding an alarm clock, glass of water, a book and reading glasses as well as bedside lamps for texture, scale, balance and functionality. I also added large bed pillows for extra comfort, height, colour and texture as well as a pair of stationary side panels to frame the view, define the space and introduce a layer of comfortable elegance. The perfect finishing touch.⁣

Fact To Note: The decorative carved fish displayed in the niche was the inspiration for many of the items in the space.
