With the owners living and working in the UK this condo needed to be transformed in to a peaceful retreat to unwind and relax. With the beach just steps away, yet still nestled within an urban setting, the design needed to be light, contemporary, simple and sophisticated. White was selected as a wall colour throughout as it best showcased the couple’s fabulous art collection. Natural oak floors, rift-cut horizontal grain oak cabinets and clean-lined minimalism convey a contemporary elegance throughout resulting in the perfect urban retreat.

Decorating For Small Spaces, North Vancouver, BC

When this client came to us and asked that we provide him with a design for furniture and built-ins the only items existing in the town-house were the drum pendant in the living room and the wood coffee table. The existing small space was open concept with the kitchen, dining area and living room all flowing in to each other. The kitchen cabinets were white painted Shaker style but the client wanted a modern wood media unit built in his adjoining living room. Therefore, we unified the two spaces by combining the white Shaker design from the kitchen with contemporary styled horizontal grain oak shelves for the living room built-in. The objective was to create a personalized space where the client could just as easily entertain friends watching the game or could sit and read a book surrounded by favourite personal possessions. Penthouse, Richards Street, Vancouver

This Vancouver penthouse posed a design challenge as the furnishings needed to combine the masculine vibe of the interior with the lighter and softer style of the new home-owners. This balance was achieved by layering various textures, keeping the palette warm and neutral and by scaling the bespoke furniture according to the architecture of the space.
